Founding member

Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jaber Al Thani was born in the Al Murqab area in 1960 and was raised under the guidance of his father, Sheikh Jassem bin Jaber bin Mohammed Al Thani, may he rest in peace. His father played a fundamental role in shaping Sheikh Hamad’s character. Sheikh Jassem was known for his numerous charitable contributions, noble ethics, and high culture, which transformed him into a central social figure highly respected and beloved by everyone, both within and outside Qatar.

Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem Al Thani’s early years were marked by accompanying his father in the family council and participating in social events, and this experience had a profound impact on his upbringing. He acquired many of his father’s qualities and values, which earned him a special place in his father’s heart.

While Sheikh Hamad carried forward his father’s legacy and values, he was also driven by a deep-seated commitment to doing good deeds throughout his life. He viewed his charitable work as a continuation of his father’s legacy, dedicated to making a positive impact on many needy communities worldwide. He achieved this by establishing a respected charitable institution, which later became known as the Jassem and Hamad Bin Jassem Charitable Foundation. The foundation reflects Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem Al Thani’s vision, emphasizing the concept of sustainability by empowering communities to drive their own development.

Love of Goodness

Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabr Al Thani was keen to continue the path of giving and the journey of goodness that his father, may God have mercy on him, started. He did this by establishing the Sheikh Jassem bin Jabr bin Muhammad Al Thani Charity Foundation in 2001, laying its foundations primarily to implement the one-third bequest of Sheikh Jassem bin Jabr bin Muhammad Al Thani, may God have mercy on him. He then multiplied the investments and assets of the foundation, and its name became as it is today, the Jassem and Hamad bin Jassem Charity Foundation, with the slogan ‘Health and Education for a Better Life.

Over the years, the foundation has contributed to improving the lives of many individuals and families in needy communities around the world. Wherever the need arose, the Jassem and Hamad bin Jassem Charity Foundation has worked on solid principles and possesses real estate and financial investments that it relies on to self-finance its projects. In addition, Sheikh Hamad personally allocates annual support to the foundation to keep pace with its expansion and the increase in its charitable and developmental projects in all humanitarian fields.

Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabr Al Thani has six siblings, and he is the middle child among them. In order of birth, his siblings are:
