The workshop addressed a number of topics, including: The concept and nature of problems and opportunities at work, Identify the main types of problems they face in the workplace, The importance of collecting facts and information and investigating their credibility, Understanding the practical and scientific steps in solving problems, In addition to identifying the different styles of solving problems and making decisions, knowing the importance of different methods of solving problems and making the appropriate decision within its time and place to achieve the desired results.

The workshop also dealt with clarifying how to implement the decision and evaluating its results and implications. Identify and avoid some common mistakes in analyzing problems and making decisions, and adopting different methods to improve the quality of decisions.

During the workshop, the trainer presented a model for solving problems in three stages: The first stage is identifying and defining the problem, during which the basic problem is identified, researched, and its causes analyzed. Then identify the real problem, Pointing out in this context that solving the problem is all based on the principle of learning through trial and error, The problem solver’s skills depend on his experience with the tools and his knowledge of how to use them, as well as following formal steps to create flexible, workable solutions.

The second stage is the decision-making stage, which identifies several solutions to choose the optimal solution through creative thinking, doing some research, preparing reports, arranging solutions according to classifications, and identifying the advantages and disadvantages to reach the decision-making stage. The third stage included the planning and implementation stage. During which he determines what the individual needs to do, as well as knowing the person who will do the work, the resources he needs, and determining the time for implementation and actually doing the work.

Al-Qawasmi pointed out that at this stage, we must think “outside the box” and try to address situations and problems within a narrow scope, which makes the chances of reaching solutions weak, noting the necessity of thinking in broader horizons and from many angles outside the limits of the restrictions that hinder us from creative thinking.

At the conclusion of the workshop, Mr. Fawaz Eid Al-Shammari, Director of the Support Services Department at the Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation, distributed certificates to the trainees. In his speech, he stressed the organization’s keenness to qualify and train its employees and raise their efficiency to master the necessary skills that help them carry out the tasks assigned to them with ease and proficiency.
