The Foundation sponsors a ceremony honoring outstanding Somali students

The Somali community and its leaders praised this role played by the Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation. They said that the Foundation’s sponsorship of the annual ceremony honoring those who excelled academically confirms the Foundation’s pioneering role in community development and its interest in educational and health projects, through which it provides opportunities to improve the lives of thousands of people. The Foundation is also distinguished by its quality in selecting and implementing its various projects in the fields of education, health, cultural and scientific activities.
The Somali community expressed their satisfaction with the contribution made by the Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation, hoping that the Foundation would continue its support for the cultural and educational activities of the community in order to motivate its members and urge them to work diligently and persevere. They stressed that the Foundation’s support for education and health inside and outside Qatar has become well-known, and the Foundation plays this role based on its societal responsibilities and to achieve its vision (health and education for a better life).
The annual meeting of the Somali community, which was sponsored by the Foundation, aims to educate Somali students about labor market trends in the State of Qatar. And the specializations that the Qatari labor market can absorb in the foreseeable and long term, In addition to highlighting international professional certificates due to their importance in enhancing the skills of job seekers, Its importance in increasing the opportunities and chances of job seekers is also evident. The importance of these efforts also lies in achieving the State of Qatar’s National Vision 2030.
A large audience of members of the Somali community residing in the State of Qatar, estimated at more than 150 participants, in addition to parents, attended. This event was distinguished by the presence of a large number of students at the high school and various university levels. The presence of female students was remarkable at this annual event.
Among the attendees were the various leaders of the Somali community, led by His Excellency Ambassador Abdul Razzaq Farah, Ambassador of the Republic of Somalia to the State of Qatar. These leaders praised the second annual meeting, its importance and its role in raising the level of awareness in dealing with the Qatari labor market among members of the community. This elite also pointed out the importance of strengthening ties between university and school students and experienced members of the Somali community. And creating opportunities to establish constructive dialogues in this regard. Professor Elmi Aviari from Qatar University praised the wonderful organization of this program and the diversity of its activities this year. The head of the Somali community, Mr. Ali Askar, also praised the efforts made by the leaders of the “Somali Professional Forum, known as (SEF)” and their dedication to serving the people of the community during the last five years.
A leader at the SEF Forum pointed out: This meeting is the result of the efforts of the forum’s leaders and the efforts of volunteers, men and women, whose number exceeded 25 people. He stressed that one of the reasons for the success of this work is the great interaction shown by the community members towards this unique event. Especially those with experience and societal elites, He stressed that this year was distinguished by the presence of a large number of students’ parents. Another leader said that preparing this program took a long time, nearly two months of continuous efforts to bring it to its final form. The program was very well received among the participants from the Somali community.
It is known that the Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation has made significant financial contributions to a number of communities residing in Qatar, including the Sudanese community, as the Foundation undertook the construction of a multi-purpose hall for the Sudanese in Doha at a value of more than one million riyals so that they can practice their cultural activities in it, as the Foundation is now doing.
By building a group of additional classrooms, offices for administrators and supervisors, and meeting rooms at the Pakistani Community School, at an estimated cost of more than 7 million Qatari riyals.
