The Hamad Bin Jassim Charitable Foundation, in cooperation with Carnegie Mellon University, established the Hamad Bin Jassim Center for Computer Science Education from Kindergarten to Secondary Level in 2018. The center includes two departments: One of them is dedicated to designing and developing awareness activities under the name Minecraft. The other department is working on developing a curriculum to teach programming and computer basics in schools using the Alice program.

The Mindcraft Awareness Department at the Hamad Bin Jassim Center aims to spread awareness of the importance of computer science in Qatar and the region. From this point, Several projects were designed to meet the needs of different age groups and provide high-quality applied content in line with different educational levels and curricula. We have designed and developed workshops that take students involved in high-quality interactive experiences.

The Alice Department works to develop and integrate computer science curricula into schools. We developed and implemented the curriculum in several schools during the 2018-2019 academic year. Since 2018, More than 15,000 students have studied our curriculum in more than 65 public and private schools.
