Local projects
The internal sector witnessed an increase in expenses by 78% over last year. Its total expenses amounted to 22,623,000 million riyals. It was spent on various social assistance and ongoing projects and programs throughout the year.
The aid included paying tuition fees, Sponsoring and supporting the programs of a number of schools, In-kind and cash assistance to support needy and needy families. In addition to health aid, Payment of late debts and rents, various other financial assistance for critical cases, and support for many programs, events, and various entities in the country.
The Foundation provided fixed monthly cash and in-kind assistance to 2,326 beneficiaries. At a total cost of more than one million Qatari riyals, of which 600 thousand Qatari riyals were financial aid spent on a number of families with limited income, While the value of the in-kind assistance amounted to 481 thousand Qatari riyals and was distributed to 873 beneficiaries in the form of coupons. In addition to lump sum aid for 42 needy families at a cost of 275 thousand Qatari riyals.

The Foundation also supported various celebratory activities for the patients of the Qatar Rehabilitation Center and the Aman House for Injured Workers patients, with the aim of bringing joy and happiness to them and distributing gifts to 400 patients. In addition, the Foundation provided support to the Friends of Mental Health Association “Weyak” to implement a psychological support project for mothers of autism families in Qatar.
Within the framework of the Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation’s interest in caring for people with special needs, The Foundation provided financial support worth 157,600 Qatari riyals to the Qatar Society for the Rehabilitation of People with Special Needs. Of which 70 thousand riyals are allocated to implement its charitable educational and therapeutic projects. The amount of 87,600 Qatari riyals is the cost of 150 food coupons provided by the Foundation to the Association.
In addition, the Foundation provided support to the Social Cultural Center for the Deaf in the amount of 174 thousand Qatari riyals to build a multi-purpose hall with the aim of preparing and training Qatari youth cadres to be sign language interpreters.
Hamad Bin Jassim Center for Computing Sciences for Pre-University Education
In order to achieve the mission of the Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation and its work strategy in contributing to the development of education, The Foundation, in cooperation with Carnegie Mellon University, launched the “Hamad Bin Jassim Center for Computing Sciences Education for Pre-University Education” at a cost of more than 4 million Qatari riyals. The center aims, Which will enhance computer science education in schools spread throughout the State of Qatar, To teach students the basics of computer science, This will help them develop basic computational thinking skills, And raising students’ awareness of the importance of computer science for the future of a knowledge-based society.
In the same context, In order to activate the principle of community partnership to contribute to raising the university enrollment rate and developing the level of academic achievement for students who suffer from financial difficulties, The Foundation entered into an agreement with Qatar University to cooperate regarding financial aid. Volunteer work and community service, Everything related to the community initiatives, projects and programs available from the Foundation to Qatar University students.
Supporting communities
Within the framework of the institution’s social responsibility, enhancing the role of culture, introducing different cultures, connecting young people with their cultures, and contributing to the blending of the cultures of the different peoples embraced by the State of Qatar, The Foundation signed a cooperation agreement with the Sudanese Cultural Center, which includes building a multi-purpose hall for the benefit of the Sudanese community, at a cost of one million Qatari riyals. On the same level, The Foundation began implementing a project to build additional classrooms at the Pakistan International School in Doha at a cost of 5 million Qatari riyals.
Among its seasonal projects implemented by the Foundation during Ramadan of the year 1439 AH, It distributed its in-kind and cash assistance to more than 3,000 families registered with the Foundation with limited income. Externally, the Foundation implemented its projects in 28 African and Asian states at a cost amounting to 6,500,000 Qatari riyals.
In terms of foreign projects, The Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation announced the start of implementing new development projects in a number of Asian and African countries. During this period, it continued to complete the implementation of its projects.
Pakistan
The completion rate of the Sheikh Jassim Hospital project in Jhang and Bakar province in the Punjab province of Pakistan has reached 70%. Each school accommodates about 300 students.
Sri Lanka
After the completion of the Sheikh Jassim Residential City project in Sri Lanka, Which provided healthy and appropriate shelter for 20,000 poor people, A water project is currently being implemented for the city, which includes 350 artesian wells to meet their daily water needs. The project is being implemented in cooperation with the Qatar Red Crescent and its total cost is estimated at one and a half million Qatari riyals. This project benefits 350 families.
Sudan
The Foundation is also currently working on furnishing and equipping a health center in the Eid al-Bashaqra area in Sudan, at an estimated cost of 750,000 Qatari riyals, to be implemented by the Qatar Red Crescent.
Morocco
The Foundation continues to implement its development projects in the fields of health and education in the Kingdom of Morocco, which it began implementing last year at a total cost of 90 million Qatari riyals. The completion rate of the Sheikha Sharifa Hospital project in Sidi Youssef, Marrakesh has exceeded 40%, and its total cost is estimated at 77 million Qatari riyals.
Jordan:
Emphasizing its commitment to improving the lives of Syrian refugees in Azraq Camp in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, The Foundation continues its support for the Sheikh Jassim bin Jabr Al Thani Primary Health Care Centre, Which it equipped and operated due to the great need and shortage in providing health services in the camp. The center provides free health care to approximately 2,800 Syrian refugees.
