Doha: The Jassim and Hamad Bin Jassim Charitable Foundation announced its Ramadan projects at home and abroad at a cost of more than 15 million and 750 thousand riyals. The projects include group iftars, the distribution of food baskets, and the distribution of cash and in-kind assistance to needy families.
Mr. Saeed Mudakar Al-Hajri, Board Member and CEO of the Jassim and Hamad Bin Jassim Charitable Foundation, said: It announces its internal and external projects on the occasion of this holy month, and they come under the direct guidance of His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabr Al Thani, founder of the Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation, and the follow-up and attention of His Excellency Sheikh Nawaf bin Jassim bin Jabr Al Thani, Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
Al-Hajri said in the press conference in which Mr. Fawaz Al-Shammari, Director of the Support Services Department, participated that the project budget for this year amounted to fifteen million seven hundred and fifty thousand Qatari riyals, with 60% for internal projects and 40% for external projects.
He stated that the Foundation allocated an amount of nine million two hundred and fifty Qatari riyals for internal projects this year. He stated that the Foundation distributed cash and in-kind assistance to 2,200 Qatari families with a total amount of 4 million Qatari riyals, and the Foundation has actually begun disbursing cash aid checks and food coupons in agreement with Al Meera Consumer Goods Company. He explained that family aid starts from 1,200 to 3,500 riyals, depending on the number of family members. Of which, 60% are for Qataris and 40% for residents.
Paying debts in debt
Al-Hajri revealed that the Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Foundation is paying off the debts of the debtors, as the total debts that have been paid amounted to about 5 million riyals. There have been requests to pay debtors for some time, and they have been studied extensively and the beneficiaries of this matter will be 12 Qatari cases.
Ramadan tent and home breakfast
Al-Hajri explained that the Ramadan projects include setting up a Ramadan tent and home breakfast for 10,000 fasting people during the holy month, at an amount of 250,000 Qatari riyals. There will be a tent in the New Mirqab area, and home-cooked breakfast will be delivered to the organization’s cars.
Regarding external projects, Al-Hajri said that the Foundation allocated this year for external projects an amount of 6,500,000 (six million five hundred Qatari riyals), where food baskets will be prepared and provided in 16 African and Asian countries, with a total amount of 5 million Qatari riyals, and 50 thousand families in Iraq – Yemen will benefit from this project. – Syria – Palestine – Lebanon – Indonesia – Sri Lanka – Pakistan – Myanmar – Bangladesh – Ethiopia – Somalia – Zimbabwe – Chad – Sudan – and Morocco.).
He stated that the Jassim and Hamad bin Jassim Charitable Foundation shipped tens of tons of dates to the embassies of the State of Qatar in 13 countries, at a cost of one million Qatari riyals, and the beneficiary countries are Pakistan – Nepal – Thailand – Sri Lanka – Malaysia – India – Jordan – Kenya – Indonesia – Bangladesh – Japan. India – South Korea .
The CEO of the Foundation indicated that ready-made meals have been provided to fasting people in the Aleppo and Idlib governorates in Syria, which will benefit 2,000 families, at a cost of half a million Qatari riyals.

External projects are ongoing

He added, “The Foundation cooperates with governments in countries to implement it. However, crises in some countries prevent this cooperation from being achieved. Therefore, the Foundation is keen to cooperate with international bodies, Such as our cooperation with Islamic funds in Doha, affiliated with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to implement the food baskets project.
Regarding the Foundation’s cooperation with international organizations to implement its projects in Syria, Al-Hajri said that the Foundation signed cooperation with the Qatar Red Crescent to implement its projects in Syria. Because the Red Crescent is an international organization and can be present in this place, The institution also chose quiet and easily accessible places. In reference to the governorates of Idlib and Aleppo.
He pointed out the awarding of a number of existing projects under implementation, such as hospitals that are hoped to be established in Morocco, Pakistan and the Comoros. Receiving donations
Regarding receiving donations from philanthropists to expand charitable work, Al-Hajri confirmed that the Foundation has assets equivalent to two billion riyals and generates sufficient revenues to complete the Foundation’s charitable projects without the need to receive donations. Al-Hajri revealed that there are other internal projects that will be announced immediately after Eid al-Fitr.
